When was the last time you have a picnic time with your friends? All student of SMP Islam Tugasku had it on Thursday, 17 July 2025. Not only a picnic, but they had an authentic learning too. Taken place at Taman Svarga Abdi in Pulomas, students and teachers shared their time under the nice weather.
At first, students gathered at the futsal field to have a briefing then they were spread into groups. Each group got a worksheet to be marked as they already passed the challenge in every post. There were 6 posts in total.
Every student experienced using the Google Lens to scan the plants in the park then explore more about it, getting to know ‘eceng gondok’ (water hyacinth or Eichhornia crassipes) then how to use it as a fodder, planting the spinach, aubergine, and tomato, next how to filter the dirty water to be crystal clear, being creative with the dried plants to be used as a decoration for an envelope, to make a corn dog and a glass of coco orange drink, also trying the right way to tie a kite then how to fly it, and having their teamwork challenged in some games.
After having them all, the stomach went crazily mad. It was the time to grasp the food and beverage that students have brought from home before.
Though the drizzly rain poured at the feasting time, we all had fun to be together in our early day of new academic year.
